Stock Ceramic Adhesive

It is a cement-based, polymer-reinforced, high-performance, fast-hardening adhesive mortar.

Areas of Use

  • It is used to bond ceramics, granite, porcelain and natural stones on interior walls and floors, on concrete, screed and plaster; on exterior floors, on concrete, screed and plaster; which are intended to be used within one day.

Surface Preparation

The application surface should be solid, dry, load-bearing, dust-free and clean, and also level. The surface should be thoroughly cleaned of any oil, grease, rust and paraffin residues that will reduce adherence. There should be no loose particles on the surface. Surface defects to be applied should be corrected with repair mortar. If the application surface or ambient temperature is above +25°C; the application surface should be wetted and waited until there is no free water on the surface.

To mix up

The appropriate amount of water is poured into a clean mixing container with the help of a scale. Stock Ceramic Adhesive is slowly added into this container. The material is mixed with a low-speed mixer for 3 – 5 minutes to obtain a homogeneous consistency. The prepared mortar should be rested for 3 minutes to mature and mixed again for 20-30 seconds before application.

Mixing Ratio: For 25 kg of powder: 6-7.0 liters of water — For 1 kg of powder: 0.240-0.280 liters of water

Application

Stock Ceramic Adhesive, which is ready for application, should be applied to the application surface with the flat side of the trowel in a thickness of 1 mm. The toothed side of the trowel, which is selected according to the size of the coating material, should be pulled in one direction to obtain a uniform thickness. In order to ensure good adhesion, the coating material should be pressed with a rubber hammer to ensure complete contact with the adhesive mortar. The application is completed by leaving the recommended joint gap according to the appropriate ceramic or tile size. Schlagen Joint Filler products should be preferred to fill the joint gaps left. Grout application can be started after 6 hours.

Points to Consider

  • In Stock Ceramic Adhesive application, if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +35°C, suitable temperatures should be waited. Application should not be done in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.
  • A suitable humidity level is required to increase the performance of the adhesive mortar.
  • Ceramics with high water absorption should be saturated with water before application.
  • Water and new material should never be added to the Stock Ceramic Adhesive mixture that has started to dry.
  • On very porous surfaces; ceramic application should be started after the surface is primed.
  • Application should be started after the impermeable and shiny surfaces are primed.
  • Joint gaps wider than 6 mm should be filled with fuga.
