Fibrous Satin Plaster

It is a cement based, polymer and fiber added satin plaster mortar.

Areas of Use

  • It is used in interior spaces, on walls and ceilings, on rough plaster, fine plaster or concrete surfaces. It is also used to fix fine cracks on the surface, and as a final coat of satin plaster before painting to obtain a smooth surface.

Surface Preparation

The application surface must be solid, flat and clean. The surface must be cleared of adherence reducing substances. The surface must be moistened before application and saturated with water on hot and windy days.

To mix up

The appropriate amount of water is poured into a clean mixing container with the help of a scale. Fiber Satin Plaster is added slowly. It is mixed with a low-speed mixer for 3 – 5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. It is rested for about 5 minutes, and the material is ready for use after mixing again for 20-30 seconds.

Mixing Ratio: 8-9 liters of water for 16 kg of powder, 0.500-0.560 liters of water for 1 kg of powder, Mixing density: 1.5± 0.1 gr/cm3

Application

The prepared homogeneous mixture should be applied to the entire surface with a steel trowel in equal thickness. If more than one layer is to be applied, a minimum of 2 hours should be waited between layers. The maximum thickness should be 3 mm. When the applied plaster starts to harden, it should be polished and smoothed. After the plaster surface is completely dry, the surface is sanded to make it ready for paint application.

Points to Consider

  • In Fibrous Satin Plaster application, if the ambient temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C, suitable temperatures should be waited. Application should not be done in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.
  • Fibrous Satin Plaster application thickness should not exceed 3 mm.
  • Water and new material should never be added to the crusted Fibrous Satin Plaster mixture.
  • The prepared mixture should be consumed within 2 hours at 20 0C.
  • The surface where Fibrous Satin Plaster is applied should be protected from sun and wind for 24 hours. Surface moisturizing should be done 6 hours after application. Moisturizing should be done at 6-hour intervals for 2 days.
