Super Flex Ceramic Adhesive

It is a high performance adhesive mortar based on cement, with reduced slipperiness, extended open retention time and elasticity, prepared for bonding coating materials such as granite, ceramic, cotto and natural stone.

Surface Preparation

The application surface should be solid, dry, load-bearing, dust-free and clean, and also in balance. Any residue that will reduce adherence should be thoroughly cleaned, and there should be no loose parts on the surface. Damaged surfaces should be repaired with repair mortars two days in advance. Porous surfaces should be wetted and the surface should be kept moist until the water layer disappears.

To mix up

6 liters or 7.5 liters of water is poured into a clean mixing container with a scale. Super Flex Ceramic Adhesive is added slowly. It is mixed with a low-speed mixer for 3-5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. After resting for 5 minutes, the material is mixed again for 20-30 seconds and is ready for use. The notched trowel to be used is determined according to the size of the coating material to be applied and the smoothness of the surface to be applied.

Mixing Ratio: For 25 kg of powder: 6-7.5 liters of water — For 1 kg of powder product: 0.240-0.300

Application

Flex Adhesive is applied to the application surface with a 1 mm thickness using the flat side of the steel trowel. Flex Adhesive is pulled to the area that can be covered in approximately 30 minutes with the toothed side of the trowel in a suitable thickness in one direction. The surface is made ready for ceramic or granite coating. The open waiting time of the mortar on the applied surface is checked at certain intervals. During the open waiting time control, the applied Flex Adhesive Mortar is lightly pressed with a finger. If the adhesive gets on the fingers, the ceramic or granite application is continued. Otherwise; it means that the working time of the adhesive product has passed. In this case, the mortar on the surface should be scraped off and new mortar should be applied instead. The working time, which is 30 minutes at 23 0C and 50% relative humidity conditions, varies depending on the temperature, humidity and application surface. In interior floor applications; if the size of flooring materials other than ceramics and tiles (granite ceramics, glazed porcelain etc.) is 500 cm2, if it is 1100 cm2 or larger for coverings such as ceramics and tiles, In interior and wall applications: the size of flooring materials other than ceramics and tiles (granite ceramics, glazed porcelain etc.) is 120 cm2; for ceramics, tiles etc. it is 500 cm2 or larger for ceramics. In exterior floor and wall applications; the application should be done on both sides. Flex Joint Filler products should be used to fill the joint gaps left. Grouting can be started after 24 hours.

Points to Consider

  • Super Flex Ceramic Adhesive If the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +35°C, suitable temperatures should be waited. Application should not be done in extremely hot, rainy or windy weather.
  • A suitable humidity level is required to increase the performance of the adhesive mortar.
  • It is not applied on metal surfaces and industrial areas.
  • Ceramics with high water absorption should be saturated with water before application.
  • Water and new material should not be added to the mortar that has started to dry.
  • Super Flex Ceramic Adhesive product should be used for applications to be made at a height of more than 3 m on the interior and exterior facades of buildings.
  • On very porous surfaces; After the surface is primed, ceramic application should be started.
  • After the impermeable and shiny surfaces are primed, application should be started.
  • Grout application can be started after 24 hours on the wall and 48 hours on the floor.
  • Grout gaps wider than 6 mm should be filled with Fuga.
  • Direct contact of the bonded ceramic with water should be prevented for at least 24 hours.
